【期間の前置詞の概念】
期間の前置詞にはfor, during, inがあります。全て「〜の間」ですが意味はことなります。forはただの期間ですがduringは特定の期間を表します。ただの期間とは2日間、1週間、6ヶ月、3年間といったものごとが継続した長さを意味します。一方で特定の期間とは高校生の間、東京滞在中、夏の間、2010年代といったmyやtheを伴うどういった期間だったかの意味を表します。inはさらにらこの期間の特定の時点や必要な時間を表します。これらの概念はイメージしづらいので実際の応用例で理解していきましょう。
《例》期間の前置詞forの使い方
HeI took a nap for three hours.
（彼は三時間、昼寝した。）
forのあとには期間の名詞（数字など）がきます。

It started to snow during the night.
（夜の間に雪が降り始めた。）
duringのあとには物事や時期（my、theなどがつく）を表す名詞がきます。
